Dark Knight Marketing Campaign

Dark Knight has been said to have had one of the best marketing strategies of all time. Warner Brothers had a huge budget of $125 million dollars, meaning a large sum of money could be spent on their marketing for the film. Dark Knight embraced the up and coming internet , with the film being released in 2008, the internet and social media were slowly growing and becoming more popular. Warner Brothers grasped this fact and used many different ways to advertise the film up to almost a year before it was even released to create a hype.

They used the character of the Joker, Heath Ledger, to 'sabotage' their media marketing of a fake political campaign for the fictional city of Gotham
